Founded in Queensland by a Japanese creator, HEKI curates handmade ceramics from the heart of Japan. Merging generations of tradition with a modern lifestyle, we invite you to find beauty and mindfulness in the everyday.

Our Story

HEKI was born from the owner’s longing for home as a Japanese creator living in Australia for over 13 years. Raised in Aichi, a region renowned for its traditional pottery, ceramics were part of both everyday life and special occasions: rice bowls for daily meals, matcha bowls for tea ceremonies, and colourful serving dishes for Oshōgatsu (New Year).

From heirloom pieces passed down through generations to modern designs from local studios, dishes were chosen carefully for every meal. Looking back, these pieces were more than functional. They marked family gatherings, signalled the changing seasons, and carried cultural rituals that are cherished in Japan.

HEKI was created to bring a slice of this Japanese life to Australian homes, filling dining tables with the same joy and comfort.
